[Dated February 12th]
They'd never had an official 'date' to meet at the waterfall in the mornings, after IPD patrol. 'Official' wasn't a great word for them, and hell, it wasn't the first time one of them hadn't kept it. He, himself, could be pretty fickle about it.
But he didn't need to go stumbling through the forest, looking for Morgan's place, to know she hadn't simply slept in or gotten held up. For etter or for worse, there'd always been something or someone to greet him at the waterfall, when he'd gone looking. Even that time he'd encountered Vala's clone had counted.
The waterfall wasn't meant to be empty. Morgan wasn't meant to be gone.
It didn't seem as overwhelming, as crippling as he'd once imagined it would be to find her gone -- returned to something worse than purgatory -- but it wasn't okay. It would never be okay. He hadn't recovered the strength or determination from Reese's vanishing to rage or to hide from it.
Yet, he found himself running again. Not away from something, but back it. To New Atlantis. Maybe it was irrational, but after Carolyn, Reese, and now Morgan...he had to know.
Hopefully, Vala would forgive him for waking her up, if she happened to be trying to sleep though the inconvenient knocking.
