The weather in Seattle has been unpredictable lately. One week it was cool and rainy, the next warm and rainy, and the next week it was cool again. And rainy

For once this week, she is getting home before dark. Walking outside to find the gorgeous day had put her in a great mood and she decided she would surprise Derek with her early arrival instead of calling to let him know she was on her way home.
She can make out his figure sitting on the edge of the dock as she pulls up to the garage, fishing pole in the air and cooler by his side. This only makes her smile more and she grabs her coat, throwing it over her arm before bounding down over the lawn to join him.
"Hey," she says warmly to his back as she takes the first step onto the dock and walks the length of it to take a seat beside him. Once settled, she leans over to give his a kiss.
"What's not to like?" she murmurs, casting a glance in his direction as she lifts her bottle to her lips.
Meredith can't believe their wedding is just over two weeks away, and she's not much for wishing time away, but she can hardly wait for the day to get here.
It just seems like they've already been waiting so long.
She smiles as she sets the beer back down beside her. "I already knew it would be, anyway. Perfect."
"I don't think the agent believes me when I say that as long as you're my wife at the end of the ceremony and I get two weeks alone with you, I'm not very picky about the finer details."
He glances at her, smiling before taking another sip of his own beer.
"She seems to be convinced we're going to get all the way over there and suddenly care whether we have the island with the bigger lagoon that just happens to be closer to the main island, or the one with the small lagoon and the grove of palm trees with multiple hammocks."
He laughs quietly as he pictures the same thing she is.
"Hammocks could be fun," he agrees quietly.
"And regardless of how fun or dangerous they are, we only need one. We'll be on our honeymoon. If you're. . . hammocking elsewhere then we have problems."
"I don't believe I'll be hammocking anywhere you're not. Or, be anywhere in general that you're not."
"Seriously, though," she adds, shifting closer so that their arms are touching slightly. "As long as I have you and a roof and preferably four walls, I'm golden."
"The sort you swim in," she says dryly, hiding her smirk behind another sip of beer. She knows that's not the information he was looking for and she can't help but tease.
"Hm," he hums, seemingly more interested in the lack of activity in the water than the image her words evoke. Only the way his thumb strokes the tender skin at the base of her neck-- slow, deliberate-- betrays his true feelings on the subject.
Well, that and the fact that she knows him pretty well.
"As far as bathing suits go, bikinis are usually more. . .convenient."

"Catch anything yet?"

He reaches into the cooler with his free hand and pulls out a beer for her, kissing her back as he hands it to her.
"How was work?"
Reply
"How was your morning? And did you get everything done you needed to this afternoon?"

"We have rings and plane tickets. I have a tux. And the travel agent has assured me everything will be perfect for our wedding."
He smirks. "I think she likes me."

Then apparently her vision included the flipping of such a hammock and she frowns a little.
"Or dangerous."

"I'm sure at some point you'll get tired of making love all over the beach."

Grinning, she lets her hand slip over to rest on his thigh.
"Speaking of beach, it was probably pretty pointless of me to buy the new bathing suits I bought, huh?"
Reply
"What sort of bathing suits?"

"Sunbathe in."

"And I suppose I'm not allowed to see them before we get married either. Is that bad luck too?"

This time it's she who is doing the eye rolling.
"I don't care if you see them, but you probably wouldn't be interested anyway. They're just a couple of - "
Another swallow from the amber colored bottle. " - bikinis."
