Absolutely none of the military people, since they all outrank John

While it is true that the generals do, I thought Sam and Cam shared John's rank of Lt. Col. - though I confess I've not been watching S10 SG1...

I think it depends on who's got the rank longer. Seniority or something like that.

Nope, seniority counts, and seniority dates from the day/time you get your official promotion.

True, however John IS base commander. That's his posting. Officially if you look at this dress blues. Therefore, he is in command. It becomes a bit tricky, but it doesn't affect things as MUCH as one would think.

Yeah, I've kinda not been watching it much either. I did think there was some nod given to seniority, though, and Sam and Cam have held the rank longer. At any rate, even if they'd be considered absolute equals, it still creates a difficult power dynamic since John doesn't outrank them.
