Just listened to both of these and they were really great. Excellent readings, great pacing and inflection and a couple of my favourite Busaikko works to boot. Thanks so much for recording them!

Thank you so much! I am such a fan of Busaikko it's not even funny, and have my eye on a bunch more stories.

(cuts into conversation)

have I really never commented on these? *shame* I love and adore these recordings, I've listened to them so much that if they were vinyl they'd be scratched by now, and they have a special place of love on my iPod. Thank you so much! ♥ ♥ ♥!

Oh wow thank you so much for saying so! I don't write fiction, but I imagine it may sometimes be weird to hear someone else's interpretation of one's writing, so it's always particularly nice to hear that an author liked it!

I think a lot of authors are more reticent about saying they loved podfic of their fic, but I love listening to my own words /fatheadedness And other people's words, of course! (I cycle to work and exercise to podfic, so I adore all podfics, they keep me active!)

It's always interesting to me how reading out loud can pull some things into the forefront and push others to the background (like humor, tragedy, characters' personalities) -- it fascinates me.... and now must run, ahve classes -->

(I like listening to my own podfic. I don't sound like "me" in recordings so the embarrassment factor is minimal and I wouldn't have recorded something I didn't like.)

I have found so far that reading heightens my experience of the characters' emotions and of the sentence-level structure and composition of the work, which is not surprising; if it brings out other things I'm not conscious of it, but that of course has nothing to do with whether it does for another listener.
