Just seen this on Joe Mallozzi's blog, Answer: We didn’t go into season four with a definitive plan to ship certain characters although, prior to the news of Teyla’s pregnancy, we had considered the possibility of making Katie and Rodney unexpected parents. Of course, this storyline was scrapped in favor of the Teyla pregnancy. Think we McSheppers bit the bullet on that one, although fanfic would have spirited her off and have Rodney and John raise the baby. he he
