Teyla is shocked when she sees the ghostly image of a woman in the corridors of Atlantis. The woman is an Ancient in appearance but, initially at least, no one else can see her. In the infirmary, Rodney is on his laptop, and John is talking about how he's getting better. Rodney can't hear a word he's saying, so John starts saying outrageous things, trying to get a reaction.
Elizabeth arrives, and she's talking to Carson when John and Rodney start walking to the infirmary doors. Elizabeth and Carson stop them, but John and Rodney convince them of the need for them to check something out in the lab.

Rodney really starts figuring out what's going on, and is telling the command deck about the sun's corona shooting out in the past, and how the Ancients had protected the planet with their three ZPMs.
Elizabeth collapses while they are talking about it, and John comes up with a desperate plan. Their one ZPM isn't enough to protect the city and the planet, so he's getting the Daedalus to take it and him and Rodney to the sun. They'll use the shilled as an umbrella, to push the sun spot around the planet.
After some dramatic words from Rodeny, and some drama during the blast, it works, and they all can go home, and the whales can disperse.
For an ending, we get a couple of scenes we'd gotten earlier in the episode - Teyla and Ronon meditating (Ronon handing Teyla a practice sword to whap him with if he falls asleep again), and John joining Rodeny not he balcony briefly, as Rodney watches Sam splashing in the ocean
