Oh man, I loved this. The slowness of the danger--first just friendly ghosts and then all the way to John physically weakening. John and Rodney's relationship is a lot of fun too--caring, but mean and snarky anyway.

Oh, this was really good. I love how everything had a dreamlike quality. I could picture all those people exactly especially the little girl at the beginning. :)

Very cool idea. I particularly liked John's lack of compassion toward the people trying to steal him - darned right they weren't his people. Also, the spare way you have John and Rodney communicating is wonderful and a very believable extension of canon. I really enjoyed this.
