Very nice! Rodney's snark-because-he-loves technique and Ronon's manly stoicism are well-rendered and hilarious, and the Death Ray that Rodney "invented that morning in his coffee break" had me laughing out loud.

One thing: "You could care less that I've been through hell" ought to be "You couldn't care less." Other than that, though, this story was a treat to read from beginning to end.

It's an idiomatic phrase -- "could" and "couldn't" are interchangable in this context.

No, jain is right, it should be "couldn't care less." "Could" and "couldn't," by virtue of being opposites, are not interchangeable.

Other than that, the fic was wonderful. Snarky!Rodney at his best and Ronon is somehow so funny in his reactions to Rodney, just by being his muscle-bound, taciturn self. Ronon/Rodney is fast becoming one of my favorite pairings.

Oh, you hit about four of my buttons right off the bat. I love the snark and the aloneness and the teamwork and RONON! This is a very funny story, but it's also got that emotional twisting in the beginning and Rodney and Ronon's initial miscommunication couldn't be solved by talking to each other and I am very, very happy with this story. Thank you.

This was too fucking awesome. Sweet and hilarious -- the death ray gag that gets funnier every time it's referenced, and particularly Ronon's rather baffled "but my hair is totally cool!" semi-conscious response. It just has that kind of zany 40s romantic comedy schtick where it's so impossible that it just has to be. Love it -- thanks for playing the game!

Very nice! It's hard to strike a good balance with Rodney and Ronon. This is perfect.

awww, this was lovely. I can see this odd-couple pairing quite easily, and exactly like this. Great Rodney and Ronon voices, and poor Ronon on his first arriving in Atlantis. I can totally see everyone shunning him because of his character and his Ford-replacement status.

I disagree with the first reply too. Certainly in British English either could or couldn't is perfectly acceptable.

I love Rodney berating Ronon out of his coma.
