I happened to be on LJ when this was posted...I LOVE this story...team dynamics are amazing, love the story and how well crafted it is, love the danger, the horror of what was happening to these gentle people, love Buddy.

Some of the lines are terrific....

"Are you sure it isn't a girl dog?" Rodney grumbled...

"Well, I'm not a veterinarian," Carson started, then shot a glance at Rodney. "Shut it." Rodney looked wounded and raised his hands in surrender."

There are many more wonderful lines. These voices are so true to the characters.

Loved the descriptive prose, the clever storyline, just a lovely, lovely story. I appreciate it very, very much, a wonderful gift!

Oh I loved that! Loved it, loved it, loved it. Very sweet and delightfully funny. (Your Rodney voice, even when he wasn't speaking, was spot on, hee!) And I loved Buddy. John should keep him.

Loved it! Excellent characterisation and I adore Buddy! Nice mix of fluffiness, action and angst!

What a great story. You put adventure, team, and the lovely friendship between Sheppard and Buddy. Buddy was great...I'd love to see more stories with him in it...hint hint...the adventures of Sheppard and his side kick!

Oh, that's just heartbreaking! Curse you, Santa!

Seriously, it was a lovely fic. Sad and sweet. I do of course want a new chapter where Buddy is given to Sheppard as a reward for his brave assistance...and Sheppard gets to keep him because two heartbreaking stories are more than I can take!

Well done. Now go write the one I want! Go on. Don't sit there. I mean it, now. Go.
