Wait, seriously, what did you name your business?

Also, I'm glad you liked it! Sorry my response has been so ridiculously delayed, but I was glad to get your comment.

My original retail store and now on-line business is called A Wrinkle In Time (www.awit.com) and we'd planned, if we ever expanded to multiple stores, the next would be A Swiftly Tilting Planet. I started out as a science fiction super store, but now mainly sell tv and movie memorabilia over sci fi (like show t-shirts, autographs, whatever).

That is pretty freaking amazing. Man, naming stuff really is awesome. That's something SGA got right.

Thank you! And yes, I've always loved themes of naming. Have you ever read the Earthsea series by Ursula Le Guin? It's all about the power of names and is kind of a personal canon of mine.

Ah, no, I haven't!! I've read some of her short stories, but not Earthsea. *adds to interminable list of books to read, shuffles it to the top*.

Ok, first thing: this story is awesome. Haven't read A Wrinkle in Time yet, but I'll soon remedy that. Even though I didn't fully understand everything, I still got it, and I definitely love the ending!

Second, you're absolutely right: naming stuff is GREAT. I love how the show uses the idea of naming something to underscore John's immediate sense of possession over Atlantis, like, this city is his and he'll be damned if Aiden or Rodney gets to name something! :-D Hope that made sense...
