Ooh, I love it! Little touches like Caldwell's swearing that the Daedalus was not a sleigh, along with the wonderful central storyline. (Although the "tree tossing" had me thinking about Scottish caber tossing and wiping away a tear.)

Oh geeze! I love it, thank you so much! That was such a neat way to bring the idea to life. And it's so cool the way you worked the Christmas party into the plot. I think my grandma fought with a string of christmas lights for two days this year. : )

John's POV was awesome-great-wonderful! I love that he got to be a little dorky, while wanting something just for himself. The team interactions were really good, I think you captured their dynamic really well. The trip to the harvest festival was hilarious!

These were two of my favorite bits:

"I've got a -- situation here," John said, increasingly desperate as Lolita crawled toward him on her hands and knees, a flash of breast visible through her tunic as she moved.

"Keep your pants on, I'll be right there," Rodney said. He rounded the corner of a barn and came into view. "Jeez, I guess I wasn't kidding about the pants."

John sensed the moment when Rodney was about to pull back, and it terrified him. Like this might be some crazy one-time thing, a single kiss and that's it

I am so, so glad you liked it! Your story request really inspired me; I hadn't thought about writing a cut-off-from-Earth story before, but once I read your request and started thinking about it, the ideas just started flowing. I'm really glad the John POV worked for you, and the team interactions, and the harvest festival which still makes me giggle. :-)
