'Not dead yet, not dead yet, not dead yet,' the phrase repeating over and over in Rodney’s panicked brain, as he ran for all he was worth down the Atlantis corridor.
His side ached and his legs felt like they were on fire. His breathing was loud in his ears.
Turning a corner, he ran straight into Samantha Carter, sending them both flying across the floor.
Recovering quickly, despite his aching body, he dragged her into the nearest room, closing the door quickly behind them.
Sinking to the floor, he finally allowed the air that his body so desperately needed.
"Sam, Sam, you have got to help me," he gasped
Faintly behind the door the sound of multiple running feet could be heard.
"And I should do that why, McKay?"
"No, please, not you too," he whined.
"It was laundry day for most of the female contingent and next time you decide to improve the spin cycle, make sure the clothes won't get shredded in the process."
Opening the door, she called, "Girls, he's in here."
Rodney's whimpers faded beneath the onslaught.
