I love this - I really think it's interesting that Ellia didn't infect Sheppard here, but it makes sense, doesn't it, because they weren't working from human DNA.

More -- deionychus!Carson never even thought of making such a retrovirus until human!Sheppard opened his big mouth. He didn't meet Ellia and Zaddik until AR-1 brought them back (Sheppard felt sorry for them -- plus, he was stuck somewhere once with plenty of vegetables and no meat, and he was starting to consider some wild ideas about war to the tooth before the carnivores' MREs came in; Ford sympathized, plus he remembers this rumor that one of the guys in his high school graduating class was taming a monster in his basement or something, and was safe enough while taking reasonable precautions; Rodney got interested in the question of whether Ellia could eat something that wasn't saurs, and if so, what, plus he trusts his teammates even though he usually won't admit it; Ronon thought it was a ( ... )

I loved the original book (which, however, only tracked human!Walter-in-Dinoworld) and between that and Dinosaur Comics, I was inspired. I fully intend to do more, in between everything else I have going on. ^_^
