“There is no such thing as ghosts.”
His heart pounded in his throat, pumping adrenaline through his veins.
“There is a logical, scientific explanation for everything.”
Gooseflesh crawled over his skin as chills shot down his spine. He wanted to scream, to cry, to run, but he was paralyzed. His feet weren’t taking orders from his frightened mind.
“This isn’t possible,” whispered Rodney, terror taking away his breath.
Two blue eyes stared back at him, glinting in the dim light. “Anything’s possible, Rodney.” The Scottish brogue was so familiar, so right, that the scientist wanted to weep right then and there. Whether from fear or some other undefined emotion, he didn’t know. He wasn’t certain of anything any more.
“After all,” the ghost said, “this is the Pegasus galaxy.”
