aww this is sweet. I studied about inoculation of small pox and some of those pictures were freaky, but I really enjoyed this, I love how you've built a whole world, with their own language and everything, and the explanation of the tattoo :D:D

Great backstory to Ronon in general, but particularly for H. s. s. vialacteanus (which I love, btw). This is a really fun series you have going, and a nice look at the very different backgrounds of the crew. It's wonderful to see a bit of Sateda.

I've meant to do something with Ronon and smallpox ever since I decided that the main thrust of my stories was going to leave Hssv stranded, and now I finally had an opportunity to do so.

It took me a while to think of what I wanted to do with it -- I didn't want to copy a known Earth culture or my take on the Athosians, and the result still had to make sense with what we know of Ronon's character.

Now if Sheppard would cooperate, which he won't. Glare.
