I don't think I'm clever enough to have gotten all the nuances of this the first time around, but I loved it! What a fascinating premise - can't wait to re-read it!

If I re-read it will the lizard make sense? I keep thinking it wandered in from the ST:Voyager episode Threshold, but that *can't* be right. Right? And what does the lizard have to do with Elizabeth?

*iz confuzed*

I know my writing can be confusing sometimes ... but I think I did make it clear that the lizard was mixed into John's dna - so I don't really know what to say about that. It was a reference to Sg-1's Unas, but I don't know that you need to know that detail to understand the "genetic tampering by Ancients" thing I was going for.

Elizabeth, like most people in positions of power, is easy for the Ancient/Ori to manipulate. People in power often feel affectionate towards those who serve them faithfully, that's all.

You know, if I were a lesser person, I would be quite irritated that somebody beats me to writing about every set of villains I get ideas for.

Especially when they do it this *well*.

That's a damn shame - I'd love to see more fanfic bashing the Ancients. They're totally whack.

And thanks. :)

Oh. Oh, I think I love you. This is fantastic. I love how everyone, John included, coped. (Brilliant John is a weakness of mine, too.)
