This was lovely and I could so picture a young Shep just like this. Cause he just never sees it coming and never will, even when he wants it/to.

Great job.

Oh, thank you for commenting!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and this Sheppard rang true to you. In my head it's part of a larger backstory but *laughs* this was lying around as a first chapter of that.

Thanks again.

I'm glad you enjoyed this. And this is so what John looks like as a teen in my head. Awkward and angry and trying to contain it so much.

Thanks for commenting!

Liked this a lot. You planning on writing more John backstory? I'd love it if you would.

I'm glad you liked it!

I wasn't really planning on it -- most of this was written with, or with encouragement from, a friend -- and I have other projects in the works at the moment. I just found this on my HD, buried somewhere, and realized it fit the Earthside challenge. *laughs*

Still, it's backstory for a larger universe so I might more of it someday.

I really enjoyed this. Is this part of a larger universe you write where more of the background you hinted at is explored?

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

As for the question, the answer is yes and no. It is part of a larger universe I (and a friend) write wherein we developed a backstory for John. But. None of that is really in postable condition since it contains a daughter of John Sheppard's (from his young, disasterous marriage with Lauren *laughs*) and we didn't think the response would be worth the effort editing.

So, yes and no. I might write some in this universe myself that is postable now that I've seen this didn't totally fail.
