Challenge: Slave Title: Red Spoilers: Season One, in bits and pieces. Rating: PG Author: Brighid Summary: It begins as simply as that: there was a boy. Notes: Parallel tales.
Oh, his childhood flashback and the question of faith reminded me of "The Seville Communion", have you read it?! I'm glad he gets a different dark-haired partner here.
Wow, this is so sad and angsty and hopeful. I love how Rodney moves from one point to the next, never really feeling safe or able to shut down until John helps him. It had never really occured to me before that Rodney would think of how he finished the bomb that would kill John, and that hit me like a sledgehammer, that he would carry that guilt. And then there's the ending, with that promise that he can finally rest. So good! :)

I love how you wove the real and the fairy-tale-esque together; The Red Shoes is so appropriate for Rodney.
