What about a fic which centers around other people pairing off, (slash or het, or whatever) and Lorne isn't but he isn't bitter or jealous. And everyone kind of overlooks him, considers him a good friend, but in the fic something happens and he's injured where it takes him a while to recover. And people start to realize what he means to them as a friend and valuable member of the expedition.

As someone who doesn't take the limelight, I'm kind of interested in seeing a fic where someone who constantly plays second fiddle remains that way, and second fiddles are just generally recognized. This would still center around our main characters, and would NOT be a central action in the story. Just something that happens in the background, a small detail, if you will.

Small detail - Torin as Teyla's father's name. Having checked some transcripts, when she talks of her father pre-Search & Rescue, his name is never actually mentioned (unless I've missed it somewhere). I know that in Rising she says she is the daughter of Tegan (think that's how it's spelt) but that could easily be her mother's name (and unless the writer's contradict that in the future - *sigh* - it's what I'm going to assume for my own fiction).

Anyway, I though it might be something someone might want to think about and maybe write a fic for?

tielan has brought this up, too -- that Tagan (however you spell it) is never specifically stated to be her father -- and that's my preferred interpretation as well. It also gives us both her parents' names, which is more than anybody else in the show has got!

*doh* TAGAN not Tegan (who was the companion of Tom Baker's doctor in his last story and Peter Davidson's doctor for most of his time!) ... you know, I had a feeling I was spelling it wrong!!

Glad I'm not the only one to adopt tielan's interpretation - I like it best of those I've read so far.

You know, I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one who has the need to "fix" canon when they throw stuff at us like this. *G*

At one point Michael said the Atlanteans must be trapped and he wants them alive. So what would have happened if Michael's hybrids had gotten to them first? And now we have whumped Shep, Ronon and Teyla all together on the hive ship having to be rescued.

I'll throw out the one I almost went with but then changed my mind... that little nudge Ronon gave Rodney in the Jumper to try to convince John to stay behind. I'd love to see that little missing scene where they discussed who was going to have to tell John he shouldn't go any further on the mission.
