When the director yells wrap ten takes later, Joe darts off the set, thanks the actress with a filial pat on the shoulder first, and hot foots it to his trailer. Inside, he locks the door, drags his cock out through the layers of clothing, and drops to his knees again. Eyes closed, he knows he only has seconds before the feeling disappears so much that he can't grab it back. That feeling of giving himself up, of feeling both frightened but also relieved--knowing that he doesn't have to fight anymore--it never lasts long once he's out of the situation. He brings himself off in under ten strokes, stands up and rubs it into the carpet with his shoe as he puts himself back together. He takes a few minutes more to poke at his hair in the mirror and wash his hands, splash water on his red face, before he goes back outside.
David is hanging out at the picnic table again. It's nice weather. The crew brings them out then. Joe sits down next to him. They reach for a donut at the same time. David looks up when their fingers touch. Joe starts to take it. He's always the faster one. But then David gets the look right, so Joe lets it go. He folds his hands on the table in front of him and sits quietly, waiting to see what David will do next.
David chews noisily, reading half to himself and half out loud. Joe tries not to feel disappointed. He breathes too loud, maybe, because David shoves the donuts at him and huffs, "Eat" around his own mouthful. There are three left in the box.
Joe tries to hide his smile as he obeys. An order is an order. Beneath the table, David's foot pushes down on his, a silent command to stop it from tapping. Joe hadn't realized he was doing it. He ducks his head. Waits. Eats, because that's what David wants.
David goes back to reading. His foot doesn't move. It rests, steady and reassuring on top of Joe's until the donuts are gone.

Wow! I totally loved the fact that Joe likes taking orders rather than the actions themselves, you know? and aww that David noticed and gave orders through his facial expressions and simple words! :D
Would love to see more of this...*whistle*
PS. I forgot to add; I liked how that you described the differences between the 'actor' and the 'character' - how would Sheppard take the command but that Joe would willingly go to his knees just to obey but Sheppard won't - that's awesome and I could see the inner struggles for Joe to be Sheppard and not be himself - that can be very difficult, esp. in this kind of setting! :D

The description of Joe's perspective is great. And I like how Joe's just as concerned with staying in character as he is with concealing his hard-on from the crew. Nice too that it's not a big deal that David twigs, that he just gives Joe a few simple orders and they share that connection, without pushing it further, yet.

Super-late reply from the OP -
Thank you so much! This was PERFECT - you got so many elements in there that just made me so happy, and took it far beyond the little bit I'd been thinking in my head.

Heeee! Sorry this comment is so late--I just read & enjoyed this, just now. Love your description of Joe's kink, & how re-shooting the scene a zillion times is precisely like hours of foreplay for him, & how he scrambles to get a bit of privacy before that headspace & buzz of arousal disappears... but still takes time to acknowlege & thank the Wraith-Queen actress.
Love this bit: ...Sheppard does things casual, when he gets around to them. Sheppard would risk his life for fun. With Joe, it's different. He needs to give himself away. He does it, bit by bit, when people don't notice. -- and how it contrasts with how he longs to instantly do as he's ordered, to obey with precision & give himself up completely. This fic leaves me with so many questions about David: does he really know what he's doing to Joe? What does he think about it? Where is their relationship going from here, kinky or not?
Wow, there's a lotta character-building & plot in your few paragraphs, & I'd love to read more! But I'm appreciative of what you've written too--thanks a lot! :: whoots & cheers ::
