This is completey and utterly awesome! I love the cultural simularities between Teyla and Vala, and their view on those from Earth.

Recced it over at my lj btw. :)

Thank you! This was a challenge to write, so I'm very glad you think it turned out well, and I really appreciate the rec. :)

I love the characterization, not only of Vala (who's sharp as a tack) and her relationship with Teyla (their initial scene together is splendid!) but also of their respective teams, especially SG-1. Cameron in particular is perfect!

Thanks! Glad you liked it! I enjoy portrayals of Vala that acknowledge her intelligence and I wanted to capture that, but writing her was much harder than I expected, so I'm glad you liked the way it worked out. (Cameron, on the other hand, I find easy to write, and I'm happy you liked his portrayal too.)

Grr, lj ate my comment and now I can't remember what I said...

I do remember saying I loved this, and that they really shouldn't work, being so different, and yet they really, really do here. I think it's the whole both-outsiders thing that runs through it that really makes it work. I loved the little bits of galactic culture, and the reactions of the teams at the end. And also that Cam and John go running off to play with the jumpers at the first available opportunity :)

Thanks! It took a while for me to come up with things the two of them might connect over, because once you get past the "strong woman" element, there's not a lot they have in common. I'm glad you think the final result works.

This was great. I love the handshake moment, and the last scene. Also, it is remarkable how many people the SG teams manage to piss off.

Very nicely done.

Isn't it, though?
