Season two of Broadchurch wasn’t as easy to get into as season one. I am personally not a big fan of court room drama. It got a bit tedious at times.
However I was impressed at how the case was laid out in court. It really wasn’t an easy case. That felt very real to me. It’s very much unlike other court room drama shows I have seen in the past where the case is a slam dunk for whichever side is focused in the show.
I truly had no idea how the case would be decided. And then I was terrified at what Mark was going to do later when he said to Beth it was up them now.
Joe Miller turned out to be quite pathetic. It was amazing how he went from a rather fun loving guy to something so sorry and pathetic.
I was so happy to see in the end that Beth and Ellie had reconciled. They really need each other’s support.
Ellie was great in this season. I was very glad when Ellie had finally told her son Tom he was coming back with her to live at the house. She is his mother. I get that this is a very difficult situation for him, so is it for his mother.
I enjoy watching Ellie work with Hardy. They have an interesting dynamic and they work well together. There’s this just something a little humorous about their interactions. It’s subtle but it’s a nice reprieve once in a while.
The other case they were working on was not that interesting. I didn’t like any of the other characters. I found Lee Ashworth skeevy to say the least. And Claire just bothered me. Still I couldn’t help wondering what the answers were. And that was a surprise to see how Lee, Claire and Ricky were involved.
I wonder what Alec plans to do next. I wonder if there will be another season. Can’t imagine what they will come up with next if there is another season.
