This past weekend was a blast. Although I think I'm still tired and my feet still ache, it was definitely a weekend to remember. We'll start on Friday because Thursday was mostly travel, Janine's first time in a TOYZ'R'US, and spending some time at a park with my niece Dakota.
Friday: the phone rings. We get up. Then blame Janine for setting the wake-up call to early (later we found out that it was my dad phoning to wish me a happy birthday at six-thirty in the morning before he left for work). We have our showers and head for the restaurant for some food (mmm hash browns taste better continental). We go back upstairs and wait for nine. Skip ahead to right before we leave for West Ed mall. And mom says that we look like cheap whores. We tried to "goth-out" even though I probably looked more along the lines of a cheap whore, the others were offended (which probably isn't a strong enough word...) because they looked great in my opinion. I did feel like a slut, thankfully it was a one time thing. I never got so many weird looks in my life. Although, it was mostly due to the make-up then what I was wearing.
I bought twenty-one dollars worth of candy (and that was a ten percent off!). We went on the roller coaster (I thought I'd be scared but it was fun) and some other rides. We walked by one of those little vendors that was selling hermit crabs with pretty painted shells. They were really pretty. Taya got her eyebrow pierced. We went down to the aquarium and got to see the penguin feed and in total we had a blast, ended up riding the coaster another three times in a row. Later we had supper at Juilo's...a mexican resturant. Our waiter was wearing one of those stupid little weaved hats, but he made it look cute. He was incredibly attentive, without fail nearly everytime we finished a drink he was there replacing it with a new one. We tipped him pretty darned well; fourteen dollars.
Saturday: We slept in. Got up and went for breakfast, then lazed around. We went and adventured out to one of the most boring malls in the universe-the Kingsway mall. The only fun time we actually had was at Pj's Pets. There was this one cockateel named Peanut that would come when I called her name. She was so cute. I really want a pet, I've never had one except for Newton...our newt...yeah we were really creative kids me and my bro. Anyways then we went out to Ryan and Shannons to celebrate Niklas' birthday. Mom bought a twelve pack of Mikes Hard and some beer for my older bros. We watched the game and ate hot dogs. Taya had also bought some stuff (I don't think I could spell it) which wasn't all that bad. Out of all the people there, Ty had the most and then took some medicine because of his allergies to Nemo the cat. Apparently the kids got Ty to hug a couple of trees. So the lesson to all is don't drink when you're on allergy medicine. On our way back to the hotel mom drove us down Whyte Ave, which was a blast.
Sunday: We get up go for breakfast (they had the good hash browns again), got all of our junk together and checked-out. Then we headed to the bus stop and hopped the number nine south bus to Whyte Ave. We went into a lot of places, spending the most time in Sanctuary and Warp. We got rained on and then headed home.
All in all it was an adventure. Definitely had the best weekend of all my now eighteen years. And I got to try a few drinks...which was a bonus, I don't think I could have picked better people to bring with me either...although I missed everyone tons. Taya, Janine and I never got in a fight which was awesome, although I was a little worried, we didn't.
Also, I received some of the best presents (THANK YOU BRITT AND D-RAE!!!).
