sg1friendathon fics are due tomorrow! It's been... interesting, so far, being a mod for a ficathon. Among other things, I am now in awe of the mods of ficathons in which I've participated in the past. :)

I'm sure there is some perfectly good explanation why half the people who signed up still haven't joined the comm yet, despite repeated and polite reminders.

If you get emails saying "Why can't I post my story" then we can start smacking our heads against brick walls. Until then like you said there's still 40 odd hours to go.

It's the calm before the storm, I know. Whether the storm will be twenty bewildered e-mails or silence still remains to be seen.

[though, um, if other ficathons are a good example, I almost guarantee you'll have fics that aren't posted and not hear anything from the authors]

I've personally betaed three so far, and Random reassures me that mine actually works, so... Hopefully. :)

A loud, echoing silence is the possibility that unnerves me most, I think. That the deadline will tick past without a word from people, and then uniquinum and I will spend Tuesday trying to get in touch with them.

I'm hoping that won't happen. SG-1 gets happy endings, right?

As for my own...I'm still cranky at it, but I've had three betas really like it now, so I think I'm going to give up complaining about it, do the final edit, and never look at the thing again.

Yeah. Odds are, it's going to happen. It's incredibly rare for a ficathon not to have at least one author just disappear. Hopefully most of it will be smooth though!
