Here's the next S2 ficlet for bingo, for the Secrets and Lies square. It's unpleasant to hear your own words reflected back at you, especially when you know they're right. Teal'c and Daniel, Family and Secrets. 406 words, and let's call it PG-13 for the subject matter.

Oh, Daniel. Teal'c was right, but the worst thing is that I keep thinking that Daniel must have remembered later how close they'd come to getting away and wondered if they could have had Sha're and the baby safely off Abydos if he'd come to terms with what was happening faster. I can't blame Daniel for needing a few moments to deal with what life had thrown at him, but he probably blamed himself.

Teal'c suffered so much too.

I'm going to go away and cry a little now.

Yes, those two eps are just killers, aren't they? And it wasn't until we did them sequentially in Redial that I realized what's written here: Teal'c was actually returning a favor when he forced Daniel to think clearly. Whew. Those two.

And I agree, this episode is just so full of if-onlys. I, er, might have written a fic about that, cough cough. :)
