SG-1 Gen Fic Day roundup

Feb 12, 2014 18:15

Here's the round-up for February's SG-1 Gen Fic Day!

New fic:
We had the On-world Alphabet Soup, which is fully coded and waiting the last three entries. My sincere apologies to all those of you who got your stories submitted on time; I wish this delay wasn't necessary. The entry can be posted literally within minutes of my receiving these outstanding letters. For the record, we are currently at over 43,000 words. Whew. :)

Edit: On-world Alphabet Soup is now live!

sg_wonderland wrote a non-Soup fic for the occasion: One Crowded Hour. Old skool SG-1!

Older fic: I linked to several older on-world fics of my own:

SG-1, Ninja Style. Team. Teal’c. Ninjas!

U is for Undomesticated Equines. Jack and Teal'c take a side trip on the way home from Billings, Montana.

Something Smoother. If you're going to drown your frustrations in alcohol, you might as well drink something worthwhile. Jack and Bra'tac, in a missing scene from Sacrifices in S8.

Well Met at Midnight. Jonas Quinn dreams of Daniel Jackson, or maybe he doesn't. A little bit of angst set just before Redemption.

Pawns' Promotion. The NID think Sam and Sha're would make fine experimental subjects. Sam and Sha're have other ideas. Set in late S2, after an AU Secrets in which Sha're makes it safely back to Earth and is freed by Thor's Hammer on Cimmeria.

And here's one from Suzannemarie: Intersecting Leaps. Sam Becket leaps into Sam Carter (and SG-1's) leap into 1969.

Vids: wyomingnot linked to Jack Feels Fine, set to "It's the End of the World As We Know It (and I feel fine).

Recs: A Circle of One's Own, by Jonah in the Whale. Gorgeous teamy character piece, with an emphasis on Jack and Daniel friendship, with a strong dash of humor. PG.

A Vacation at Jack's Place, by Oughtaknowbetter. Delightfully competent team tracking down a Goa'uld in Minnesota, complete with gratuitous (but admittedly fun) Daniel whumpage.

The Only Winning Move, by Synecdochic. I adore competence. This SGC wargames romp has it in spades.

Five People (or Beings) Who Inhabit the SGC is exactly what it says on the tin and hugely enjoyable.

Eroding Away the Mountains by Abyssis is one of my all-time favorite Sam and Daniel friendship stories.

Magistrate's Ya Vas Lyubil is another beautiful Sam and Daniel friendship story, pensive and intelligent.

Sealie's Happy Barbecuing is absolutely plotless teamy goodness JOY.

Bad Pennies, by Salieri, is a priceless MacGuyver crossover.

Surreallis gives us the team and very bad hockey in the gleeful Face-off.

My thanks to all of you who participated! I'll edit this entry to include the link to the Soup as soon as it's posted.

Here's to more gen squee! :D
