April: recs, mostly. Gen Fic Day and Alphabet Soup?
As expected, Pesach left little time for fandom, so aside from the Season Three installment of On the Outside, Looking In and colls treating me to two podfics (squee!), my fandom time was all taken up with recs.
I finally got around to updating the SG-1 Rec Master List, by the way, and realized that my anniversary (so to speak) was April 1st. I have been doing this for SIX years. My current total is 786. I... am not sure what to say about this. :)
You all know the drill by now: All the fics were recced at stargateficrec and archived at figs_sg1_rec. As I said, the master list is actually current. Since I am no longer reccing specific categories, these are all over the place, but I made an effort to vary the characters and eras. Where the title doesn't make it obvious, I've identified the characters involved in the story.

Look Me in the Stars, by Stringertheory (PG) (mini!Jack)

sg1genrecs ran Reccer's Weeks this month. We had lots of excellent recs, including four from yours truly. Wander over and take a look!
Now, onto the next subject: an upcoming Gen Fic Day, complete with Alphabet Soup. Possibly.
I still have the joy of tagging with SG-1 Debrief on LJ and I know only too well how little gen fic is being written. To be fair, there's been an overall slowdown in fic production; understandable, I suppose, with the closure of canon receding into the past and many fans moving on. But I am still here, loving SG-1 and cheering on gen fic. So it's time for a Gen Fic Day. :)
I am tentatively scheduling SG-1 Gen Fic for June 11th and I would like to include Bra'tac (and Jaffa) Alphabet Soup. I'd love to make it all about our favorite 130-year-old, but I'm a little unsure that we could actually manage 26 individual authors! By making it all-Jaffa inclusive -- including Teal'c, if it's set in his pre-series days, or S9-10 and beyond among the Free Jaffa -- I hope we can find enough volunteers.
I'm not a paid member of LJ or DW right now, so I can't set up a poll. I hope it's not too much to ask if those of you who are interested would comment here and let me know if first, you'd be interested in contributing, and second, if the timing works for you. If your answer to the former is positive and the latter is negative, let me know what time would work for you. I don't mind some flexibility here... as long as I get more fic. ;)
