This is for Aelfgyfu, who requested, "Teal'c actually explains something in American culture to Daniel (who is, let's face it, not always the most clued-in guy)." Teal'c and Daniel discuss the relative merits of cultural knowledge. No spoilers, but set at least in S3-4 to give Teal'c time to accumulate his knowledge of pop culture. ~990 words.

I don't watch The Simpsons, so I sat here mouthing "The Springfield Isotopes?" to myself until I finally reached Teal'c's explanation, at which point I laughed out loud. Indirectly, I'm a recipient of Teal'c's little lecture myself, because like Daniel, I ignore a lot of modern sports and entertainment. Yet I do medieval literature, including sports (tournaments) and entertainment (romances, parodies)!
At least I know Alan Grant isn't at the SGC! (Okay, maybe I double-checked the IMDb to be sure I was right, but I was right, and that's the point!)
I love this ficlet, and I'm chuffed that you did my prompt!

I don't watch The Simpsons either! Wiki can really be your friend sometimes. :) (I laughed at the "Isotopes" thing because it was SO tempting to twist it to include Sam...) And I had to wiki Alan Grant too, so you're still doing better than me!
So glad you enjoyed the fic. It was lots of fun to write. :)

That, however, did not detract from the fic glee!
