For abyssinia4077, who is truly wonderful! This should've been posted yesterday in honor of your birthday and Purim, but a niece's engagement kinda got in the way. Er, it's Shushan Purim here in Jerusalem -- does that count? :)

Summary: Sam reflects on her working relationship and friendship with Teal'c. Set in early S2, with some spoilers for COTG and ( Read more... )

Do you ever wish LJ had a "kudos" button? So you can just be like, "this is awesome!" without having to get your brain together enough to generate a coherent comment? Yeah. So. This is awesome! I love this take on Sam and Teal'C and it leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzly to read it.

Thanks you! Sam does like to think logically, doesn't she?

This is so, so wonderful, and a great point of canon to explore. I love Daniel's take on the situation (Sam's right, it does feel very him!) and this line:

She can just picture the slight tilt to his head, that extra gleam of amusement that will come into his eyes as he answers her with grave courtesy.

is gorgeous, because I can just see it and it really warms my heart that she already knows him that well. I have a huge fondness for the friendship fic between Sam and Teal'c! (The way he looks at her with such open affection in the later seasons makes me want to squee so hard.)

I adore Sam and Daniel's friendship only a little bit more than I adore Sam and Teal'c's... :)

(The way he looks at her with such open affection in the later seasons makes me want to squee so hard.)

YES. Because it's not just trust and affection, but also Teal'c's ability to be so open. And it's just gorgeous, isn't it?

This feels like a weird statement, but Daniel's friendship with Sam is one of my favourite things about him :) They're adorable.

Teal'c! I think it was those open looks that finally won me over to him (not so dire, given I started with season nine).

It's not weird at all! I fell in love first with Daniel, then Jack and Daniel's friendship, then Sam and Daniel's friendship, then Teal'c and Daniel's friendship... er, you may notice a trend there. :) But most of all, I love TEAM. Because they are just so awesome.

(And how can someone not love Teal'c? I mean, REALLY.)

I have no icon with Sam and Teal'c together! I had to choose between them!

I really like Daniel's take on the question: Teal'c thought Sam was male until he'd already fixed an impression of her. Of course, Daniel spins out lots of theories that he doesn't necessarily believe, just to test them.

You have an excellent contrast with Bra'tac--who also didn't show much respect for Daniel, at first.

So now I'm wondering if Sam ever asks Teal'c, or if she just forgets over time. . . .

Well, here's an icon of Teal'c to balance things out... :)

Daniel and his theories, heh.

I think Sam and Teal'c do have that conversation. I see it happening in S6, probably after Paradise Lost and that hug. Happy sigh.

And thanks for the correction - I always appreciate it when you spot my mistakes!

Oh rhis was very nice. I love that moment in COTG where Teal'c hands Sam his weapon on the ramp. I was rewatching The Warrior recently too where Sam has to face that Jaffa derision of females again and Teal'c states quite firmly that she was a formidable warrior and is almost embarrassed at the lack of respect for her. So I can see the future conversation you allude to here happening at some point.

YES that moment in COTG is one of my favorites from the pilot! Wordless respect. Stunning.

And yes, Teal'c does support her all along, doesn't he? I just love their friendship.

Thanks!
