Previously, on Stargate SG-1 (G)

Here are eight drabbles from yesterday's meme, all with the women of Stargate. Each drabble is based on a name and an episode. I've arranged them in episodic order. Spoilers for Solitudes, Prisoners, Crystal Skull, Fifth Man, Menace, Nightwalkers, Heroes, and Prometheus Unbound. (Poor S4 got left out, heh.)

Great set of drabbles! I like how you present Linea as neither good nor evil, just curious.

The missing scene from "Nightwalkers" gives some of the tension that should have been in the episode. We didn't get to see Sam's struggle; she knew what a terrible, terrible risk she was taking, but we didn't get that scene at all.

Heh, yes. I wrote an entire essay on that once. I do see her as... well, amoral. Focusing on her science above all else, and seeing nothing wrong with human experimentation. But evil, no.

And I do agree that we should've seen more of Sam's horror for what was happening. Most of that ep, though, seemed to be from Jonas' perspective. Which isn't a bad thing, but it means we lost Sam's POV.

Thanks! :)

The ones aelf noted are the same ones that struck me the most. Linea's hunger for information and knowledge and pragmatism. Both scary and fascinating.

And I always feel like that moment in Nightwalkers is given such short shrift because how could Sam *know*?

Linnea is indeed both scary and fascinating. On some levels, I think it's that scary fascination that attracted Daniel to Kira, you know?

Nightwalkers, YES. Such a desperate gamble. Sam is beyond awesome.

Yay! Thanks so much -- I like what you did with Sam in Nightwalkers (it must be a scary moment!), and all of these are fun to read.

Thank you! That must have been a very scary moment indeed. I was glad to have the chance to play with it a bit. :)

Thank you!

Linnea fascinates me, I cheerfully admit. :) Novak was a bit of a challenge, as I don't watch SGA, but I like the way her drabble came out. I'm glad you did, too!

Lovely set of drabbles and caused shivers to go down my spine when I read of Cassie's pain. They are all really great and I hope you find more of these memes to take on!!

Poor Cassie, yes.

Not sure how many other memes I'll choose to follow as I have too many WIPs (including one_prompt, heh) but you never know. :) Thanks!

Yeah, as others said...the Nightwalkers one...shivers. I also liked the Linnea portrayal and the Novak one. The Solitudes one - my mind had almost eliminated any part of the story line but the Sam/Jack one, so I appreciated that little scene to remind me there was the "base" side of the episode, too.

Do you really think anyone besides SG-1 would go tell Cassie about Janet, though? If, in fact, she was close by enough that any of Janet's staff could visit her, then SG-1 would have done, don't you think?

I wish we could've gotten some Sam fallout from Nightwalkers. It was fun to write it, at least! I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of them, too.

::sporfles:: And for me, the Teal'c and Daniel friendship bit is the most powerful part of Solitudes. Just goes to show, eh? :)

I thought about that one quite a lot, actually.

They wouldn't want to delay informing her, and you don't do it by phone call. And even without Jack being incapacitated, I simply can't see Sam or Daniel or Teal'c being allowed off-base in the immediate aftermath of the mission. So for me, sending military personnel -- people that Cassie would know well -- seemed the best possible option. Of course the team would go to see her ASAP, but I don't know when that "ASAP" would actually be. Does that make sense ( ... )

Gotcha...well thought out. And now that you explain that...I'm thinking that if Sam/Daniel *had* gone to her, Bregman might have ghoulishly tried to follow? *shivers at thought*

Nightwalkers fallout
Can you imagine what *Jack* would have wanted to say to her for doing that? (Of course, he has so much room to talk...Mr. I-stuck-my-head-in-the-head-sucking-device-TWICE...)

I think Bregman had a little too much respect for Janet for that, actually.

Regarding Nightwalkers - I didn't mean fallout from being yelled at (yelled at that what, that she was about to be snaked with no choice in the matter and she took a desperate, last-ditch chance that she might be able to stop it?), I meant the emotional repercussions of getting implanted again after what happened with Jolinar. It's her worst nightmare come to life, but the ep is mostly from Jonas' POV and we don't get to see that.
