Off-World Missions

If you need to complete a list of other SG teams in tents on longer excursions, there's 2x13 "Spirits":

HAMMOND: We commissioned SG-11 to extract more Trinium samples from the planet. As of this morning, they are 48 hours overdue for the weekly check-in.

Looks like the command tent is well-appointed, with an electric coffee pot hooked to a generator!

I like that SG-1 is too elite to carry camping gear or wear helmets, and tends to get First Contact duty, leaving other teams to do the follow-up. It makes me happy to ret-con the mention of 1264 missions in the dubiously cracktastic 10x06 "200". That low number for 10 years and a dozen or so teams might have sub-designations such as Mission 589A, or 589B for follow-up jaunts through the Old Orifice. Ret con! Ret con!

Nightmares

Imma call this "para-canon", as it comes from the audio book Shell Game:
VALA: Bad dream: I have a lot of those. Comes from having had to share your brain with an alien snake.

Author James Swallow obviously takes his cue from Sam's canonical flashbacks & dreams from hosting of Jolinar. (Yeah, I know it's a media tie-in source, but when the show's no longer in production, I'll gladly feed my SG-1 addiction.)

I'm sorry, but that just happens to be the way that I feel about it.
No need to APOLOGIZE for stating obvious opinion on your own LJ. Sheesh! Apologize for being unable to resist clicking on silly Jack/Daniel hurt/comfort stories. ;-)

(Pssst... you have a typo in the Subject line: "off-word".)

Hee, great pic, thank you! I'd forgotten about Spirits, yes. And they certainly had been around long enough to have that coffee pot!

200. Argh, don't remind me. As far as I'm concerned, its only absolute canon point is Daniel's new glasses. ;)

I'm sorry, but that just happens to be the way that I feel about it.

Oh, I can tell that you're a fan of S9-10! :) That's a quote from Window of Opportunity - the line of dialogue that Daniel says every. single. time they reloop.

And thanks for the typo, heh. Fixed now!

Hey, I'm a fan of all the episodes I've seen! It's just that I'm only up to 2x14 in my pre-Seasons 9&10 viewing. I'm watching as fast as I can! I just have a tendency to re-watch an episode 4 times before viewing the next one. (You know, once without captions, once with captions, once with commentary, and once again to pause the slashy/shippy scenes.)

Everyone needs some crack in their canon, and "200" delivers. Keeps us on our toes! :-D

Hee! You're linking all your posts over at the redial_the_gate fanwork entries, right?

The thing with crack is that it's so subjective. There were parts of 200 that I laughed, parts that made me roll my eyes, and parts I couldn't stand. To each their own. :)

I can do that? Really?

Certainly! For the first three seasons, we did round-up fanworks lists with the idea that people would use them to also link to season-specific but non-episode-specific fanworks, too. That didn't work out very well, but here on the Season One Fanworks page, like on the ones for S2 and S3, there are direct links to each ep's fanworks entry: COTG, Enemy Mine, etc. For S4 and beyond, you can check either the tags or the memories.

These pages are permanently open and additions are welcome! I can't promise you'll get much traffic on older entries this way, but I do often see Redial cited over at stargate_search when people ask episode-specific questions.

I was wondering why you all stopped creating the list of links for each season! The link list for the first three seasons are a tremendous help, especially when I am looking for information on a specific episode. (redial_the_gate is my first stop for research.) I confess that I rarely take the time to search through the tags for the rest of the seasons and didn't know about the memories. Thanks for the tip!

Because yeah, I guess I do have some fics that I should add to the fanworks entries...

The season fanworks posts were created more for non-episode-specific fanworks than as a place to see a season's worth of fanworks links on one page. Although looking back, I think the latter aspect is more useful. :)

Honestly, if there was some way to backdate entries on comms, I'd probably add season fanworks entries for the rest of them. But your best bet is the tags (for specific eps, both recap and meta and fanworks) and the memories (for specific types).

And yes, please do add your fics! We're always happy to get more. :)
