::points gleefully at new fic rec icon by samantilles::
November was a pretty quiet month in fandomland, as many people were busy with NaNoWriMo. I don't have that excuse, so here's a look at what happened here in November:
Go read 'Taking Tally', folks! It's a hard look at just how badly things can go, and the world is very well created, indeed. Then we can prod Fig into writing serious stories a little more often, because she's good at it!
It's odd - light fluffy stories are easier to write and more popular, too. And the harder stuff takes ages longer to write and gets much less comments. Not that I write solely for the feedback, but hey - human here. :) So thanks again for the rec.
Yeah, I know. My stories that I really think are my best--the ones that I work the hardest on and have the most range/depth, get far fewer comments than the light ones. In fact, I think my very best work has hardly been read at all. I'm trying to divorce myself from feedback expectations, but I'm always a little disappointed by that. Ah, well. C'est la vie. ;) Maybe it's best to perceive lack of comment as a positive thing. :)
It doesn't tell me who visits an individual LJ page, and I keep it behind a cut so it isn't affected by someone reading their flist, and of course many people have all scripts blocked... but it means I can see that a certain LJ page has been visited. SG-1 Ninja Style gets hits all the time, for example. Even more happily, Possibilities gets read pretty frequently, too!
I know that on average (to use a totally invented ratio here), perhaps one person out of fifty will comment. And that's absolutely okay - lurkers are people, too. :) But at least with LJToys, I have the comfort of knowing that it's being read, and hopefully enjoyed.
