A Matter of Preference (G)

So various people have been offering prompted drabbles ( including me) and when sg_betty posted her offer, I gave her the prompt of Sha're and water. Only as soon as I hit "post comment," I got blindsided by the desperate need to write the prompt myself. :) I'm still very much looking forward to Betty's drabble, but in the meantime, here's my own take on ( Read more... )

Awwww. It's quite the mental image full of smells and sights. I liked the sandal imagery particularly.

Thank you! That's actually historical, believe it or not. And very believable - treading on their enemies with every step. The Goa'uld would definitely go for it.

and

A slave pulled at a snarl, once. It took the woman nearly two days to die.

both really caught my eye. The first was just an interesting little tidbit that really struck me a true, and the second because it was so jarring. The whole piece has a dreamy, rich quality, like being in a spa, and than bam, torture and death.

Very nice Sha're piece.

::nods:: The sandals things I found in research, and yes, I imagine it as very Goa'uld-like.

The sensuous quality of all the description really evokes the Goa'uld; that last line is a heartbreaker.
