Ouch. And yet Janet always managed to toe that line so gracefully.

Other than Mackenzie, we never got another military doctor, I think.

It can't be easy. But Janet does everything gracefully. :)

Huh. I always had Dr Warner as military, but looking around I think that might be fanon/personal fanon. Oops.

To the best of my knowledge, Warner wasn't military. Then again, he was on base pretty early in the series, which suggests he might have been. Maybe. :) But Mackenzie and Janet are the only ones we know had actual rank.

This is beautiful, Fig! Lyrical and desperate at the same time. The horrible frustration while fully understanding the necessity...

Thank you, Betty! Janet's frustration levels must've been through the roof, most days.

Yay! That's very nice. The one military MD I know says it's an issue a lot of them have to face, and Janet's so awesome about it in every way.

Yes, I can imagine that many military doctors have to face it on a regular basis. Good thing Janet is so awesome, as you say. :) Glad you liked it!

Oh, ouch. Very nice viewpoint on that episode.

Stop the organism from spreading deadly tendrils to the rest of the planet. Let a young man die.

You can just feel her hatred of the choice, even as she accepts its necessity.

Great job.

Thank you! Janet's perspective on this had to be hugely frustrating - I'm glad that came through here.

Ooh, nice!! I love stories dealing with Janet's medic/military conflict. You really show her desperation and determination, as well as her painful awareness of the catch-22 she's in. Of course she knows it's there, but she hates it. And she knows it won't be the last time, too. Thank you.

Yes, exactly - it won't be the last time at all, and she's going to have to struggle with it over and over again. Poor Janet. :( I'm glad this worked for you, anyway.
