Ok, thanks for the clarification. I too have some experience with law enforcement people (socially, not professionally). And yes, they can be silly and fucked up. But I thought this (the prank on the show) was over the top. If this is how it is in cop shops across the land, that is sad. A recent scandal in the LAFD showed that the way of life in the firehouse was/is completely effed up. And it cost millions to the city.

A brotherhood of men (and women) that relies on eachother to protect eachother and save eachother's lives doesn't have to include humiliation and degradation. - HAHA very funny, someone took a dump in my locker cuz I'm new or retiring or maybe snitched.

What?

It's lame. I am sure you think as an outsider, I don't know shit, but it is just human nature. I'm no touchy feely rainbows everywhere let's get high hippie turd here. I am a veteran of the US Army. No one that had my back pranked me. Know why? Because they knew me well enough that if you effed me over with some infantile shit, I would hold it against them, possibly forever. And some day, they might rely on me to save their life. It just seems like common sense that you wouldn't go there in this situation.

Treat those that are responsible with your LIFE...with respect and good times. Out of control cops and firemen and others...that whole thing needs maintenance.

That is my opinion. You may crap upon it if you wish. I can take it. I just hope you don't feel the need to.

I have no desire to crap on your opinion. Or take a dump in your locker. (See, now, that would piss me off, too. LOL) But...I like a discussion so I'll just add that when you said...

No one that had my back pranked me. Know why? Because they knew me well enough that if you effed me over with some infantile shit, I would hold it against them, possibly forever. (Emphasis mine.)

...you made your own point. There are cops like that, too, that don't like it and see it as humiliation or abuse. So they weren't messed with. But I gotta say, they also didn't engender a lot of trust, because if backup from that individual depended on "towing the line" with them, it's not really dependable back up at all.

I think they knew Butch would take it just as it was intended, and I'm sure they're all watching their backs for return pranks, but I'm also pretty sure they know he's got their backs when it counts.

I agree that sometimes this stuff is taken way too far, and when it crosses a line, then it needs to get dealt with. For instance, no one thought it was funny when a tube of super glue was left open in a patrol car as "a joke". It ruined valuable equipment and the result was a dock of pay for quite some time. But I also think that sometimes a prank is just a prank, even one as extreme as the one they pulled on Butch.

It's just a Do Unto Others kind of thing with me. I actually would be less inclined to trust my back to someone that has pranked me I guess.

Now, let's discuss how gristly Grace is and why she insists on being naked in every episode. :D
