“That’s very funny Teal’c,” Jack said as he opened a gift from the alien on Christmas Eve. Sam, Daniel, Teal’c, and Jack, were sitting in Jack’s living room opening gifts from each other.
“DanielJackson informed me that socks are a traditional gift to give to a friend,” Teal’c responded, looking completely serious.
“Daniel, I never thought I’d have to tell you to use your anthropo-whatever powers for good, not evil,” Jack told the anthropologist who was sitting on the couch smiling.
“I couldn’t resist,” Daniel replied with a shrug, sipping from the beer that was still mostly full after an hour.
Jack smiled. It was the first time in years that he was actually happy about celebrating Christmas. It used to just remind him of Charlie and everything he’d lost. Now he finally had people he cared about to spend the holiday season with. He had a family of sorts, dysfunctional though they may be. It was the ultimate gift. One he’d be forever grateful for. He was even grateful for the socks. They were the nice, cushioned kind he liked. However when he read the front of the package, it said Women’s Size 8-11. He looked up at Teal’c who had a rare smile on his face. Jack smiled back, truly happy he’d found this oddball group as his second family.
