So. That news, hey?
I saw all the posts squealing about the photos of Billie Piper back on set (yes, you read that sentence right for those who haven't already heard!) but was sort of happy to just let it pass. It could have been ANYTHING and it's best not to go completely off your nut... not when you're dealing with RTD and co.
But. BUT.
The BBC have confirmed it: Billie Piper is to return to Dr Who as Rose Tyler for 3 episodes.
To say I'm surprised is pretty much an understatement. I really didn't think we'd see Billie/Rose again... and despite the fact that I ADORE the Doctor/Rose 'ship and Doomsday tore me apart, I was satisfied (er, so to speak?) with how they ended it. I mean, these two people were in love. We've had confirmation from RTD, Julie, David, etc. Then they were ripped away from each other with, seemingly, no way back. How do you come back from that?
I'm just... not worried, not concerned... just curious with a bit of uncertainty thrown in. Rose was willing to leave everyone she loved behind to stay with the Doctor. He (and travelling with him) was her whole world. If she comes back for 3 episodes, well, why wouldn't she stay longer? Okay, fine, throw all manner of theories at me - things have changed/happened since Doomsday which means she can only 'visit' but it's just... I dunno. Weird. [/ramble]
Still, having ALL THREE companions in one season is going to be fantastic. Can you picture it? Rose, Donna and Martha. Awesome sauce.
What a pity I can't use all the other 'appropriate' tags. I'm thinking doctor/rose in particular here. But it kinda might, y'know, give the game away. LOL
