Okay, THIS I have a problem with.
"Oh gosh, the new villains. We encounter one in particular in Missing and they are called the Bola Kai. And you know what I like in them? I don't know if you watched Serenity, but they are sort of a tamed down version of the Reavers with a little more humanity. At least in their mythology. It is the same kind of brutality, it is the potential cannabilism.
SERIOUSLY. TAMED DOWN REAVERS.
I haven't had any problems with Jewel & Amanda coming into the cast (because really, people, casts change. Get over it), in fact I'm VERY muchly looking forward to it because I adore both actresses. I don't have a problem with the Teyla pregnancy (though we'll see how that pans out). But... tamed down REAVERS?
I still can't put my finger on why exactly this makes me scrunch my face up in disgust and ohdeargodnoplease, but it does. Maybe it's the fact they're TAMING DOWN REAVERS. Reavers that were intentionally so bad-ass as to freak the hell out of EVERYONE. I mean... that's part of why they were so creepy and cool is because they WEREN'T tamed down. They were out there and extreme and... did I mention the creepy? Or maybe it's just because they're bringing in something like Reavers at all?
