New Who was awesome!!
LOVED the first ep of the new series. David and Freema have great chemistry and I'm really looking forward to seeing more adventures with Martha and the Doctor.
I'm not going to compare Billie/Rose with Freema/Martha because I think they're both rather awesome on their own merits. Though I love the fact that both of them, in their introductory episodes, didn't completely freak out at the circumstances. Hee.
I can't really think where to start in talking about this ep - my thoughts are all jumbly with "Wheeee! New Who!" Makes it a bit hard to think.
Things I loved:
+ The TARDIS "it's bigger on the inside" joke - that never gets old. :D
+ The suit of blue is cool but YAY FOR THE BROWN SUIT!!
+ David. The entire episode. Really was in fine form. I need a rewatch to pick certain things up.
+ Martha's first meeting with the Doctor with the tie. Hee! That was cool. Then showing why at the end of the ep. Double hee!
+ Martha using her stethoscope on the Doctor in the hospital - the little eyebrow quirk and wink from the Doctor was amusing when she heard both heartbeats. And when she mentions the tie episode on the street - that exchange was fun.
+ The Doctor smirking FTW!!! Is it just me, or was there a LOT of smirking and eyebrow lifting in this ep? [/shallow]
+ "We're on the moon. We're on the bloody moon!"
+ The mention of Adeola as Martha's cousin - nice little touch there.
+ I did like the Rose mentions. The Doctor is still obviously affected but it's not stopping him from getting things done, which is the only way I could see this being played out. I'm glad they've gone that route. That's not to say I want a Rose mention in every episode (because that would get old after a bit) but a mention every now and then is not a bad thing.
+ The sonic screwdriver and laser spanner comments - LOL!
+ The comment about the shop in the hospital (and liking the shop) referring back to 'New Earth' - hehe!
+ "What species are you?" / "Timelord." / "Oh, so not pompous at all then." *snicker*
Anyway, loved it muchly. Bring on next week! :D
