It was kinda weird when I realized that I was right there with Jack and Daniel in not knowing where Sam would have ended up. I mean, I don't believe she's any more without sin than the rest of them, but which one?

And then it turned around and got horrible when I realized that in my image of her, she'd probably be one of the sullen ones rather than in any of the other circles, and that meant she'd be lying at the bottom of the Styx, and Daniel just didn't find her and they went rowing merrily along. And then I went "Gah!" and stopped the fic there.

My brain is not kind to this woman. It's because she's my favorite character, right now.

Rule #1 of surviving in the magibrain: never, never let it like you.

Hee! I'll confess, I had to go look up the circles on Wikipedia and the text on Wikisource, but it was too good a set of levels to pass up. I get more thematic milage out of Paradise Lost, but you can't go wrong with the classics.

What I liked most about this? It's utterly bizarre. It's insane. It's hurtful and painful and ouchy and yet... they just keep going.

Because that's Daniel. And Jack. And yes, SG-1.

(Now go find Sam and Teal'c, you two!)

Edit: Also, THANK YOU for writing Jack and Daniel fic. I'm still incredulous that there was no Jack and Daniel fic in the ficathon proper. At least we have something from the Frenzy.

I had a friend who said, at one point, that the great thing about SG-1 fic was that the show had already done most of the major crackfic premises, so you could do anything.

Also, seriously? How does no one write Jack and Daniel friendship fic? that seems utterly bizarre.

"Doctor Jackson's gonna die when he sees this!"

"What, again?"

Any show that can have that bit of straight dialogue is truly squeeful. We've got canon time travel and alt dimensions and amnesia and little gray aliens and just YAY. :D

I'm still blinking at the lack of Jack and Daniel fic. Happily, Lokei posted one today, too. The 2008 ficathon had 5 out of 23 fics featuring our boys - so very weird to have 35 and not a single one this time! Thanks for your many and varied contributions. :)

Maybe everyone decided they wanted to branch out. At the same time. Except for the people who typically don't write Jack and Daniel anyway, who decided that they were comfortable in their routines.

...now I feel like I should go find and write something completely out of type for me, just to see how varied my contributions can be. :P

This is the only non-spam comment that's come from my LJ in days. Thank you!

Here via Fig's rec. Wild-but sad. Poor Daniel! I have no idea where to find Sam either. I don't think lust was appropriate for Daniel, but an excessively rigid mind well might.

Heh. I have a feeling that $alien_intelligence_behind_inferno may have been stretching a little, with Daniel. After all, it has to condemn them all somehow right?

I was talking with Stringertheory above about where the heck Sam would be. And then it got depressing.
