A lot of behind-the-scenes updates have been made in the
Stargate Wiki over the last two weeks:
- A few updates were made to the WIP biography of John Sheppard. Thanks to all who have contributed thus far. We're still working on the article from this LJ post, so it's not too late to join in! :)
- All of the actors who have appeared on SGU now have articles with images of their respective characters (if available). Some of these actors appeared in SG-1 and/or SGA. :)
- All of the writers for SGU for Season One and going into Season Two have been added or updated (they are listed in the Stargate Universe Main Page). The directors are next and the writer and director index articles are on the to-do list. :)
- New episode guides were created for the newly-named episodes of SGU's Season Two. Keep in mind that these are subject to change as the season is in production.
- A brief biography for Dr. Simon Wallace was added. And this leads to my obervation...
The surname "Wallace" appears to be a favorite for the writers/producers. Amazingly, there were three individuals who had that surname in SGA and there are two in SGU!
Simon Wallace - He's the first. He was Dr. Elizabeth Weir's fiancé. What do you make of that relationship? I'm just not seeing the love there at all from either side. You kind of knew it was doomed from the moment you saw that she filmed that videotape from her living room! (I'm not sure how that worked, but canon is canon.)
Wallace - That's all we have of his name, but he was part of Sheppard's SG team when the Ancients kicked the Expedition out of Atlantis. It was during the Ori War, which I think was interesting that they brought up on more than one occasion in SGA. Poor Wallace was the guy on crutches that Sheppard zatted.
Henry Wallace - He's the guy whom Sheppard convinced to feed himself to Todd the Wraith. Unbelievable! Granted, the guy did some pretty bad things...but...
Eli Wallace - He's an MIT drop-out, but has a natural brilliance with mathematics. He figured out the formula for harnessing the unstable energy of naquadria in order to power the Stargate to dial the nine-chevron code to Destiny. Now he's stuck there.
Maryann Wallace - She's Eli's mother. She's left behind on Earth all alone and isn't cleared to know where Eli is. He has chosen not to tell her anyway so as not to cause her more pain. Her medical condition of being HIV positive had depleted their finances so much that Eli was compelled to take up Gen. Jack O'Neill's and Dr. Rush's offer to join their little secret project with the Air Force's financial support. Her husband, Eli's dad, couldn't handle her illness, so he just left (when Eli was 14; he's now around 25).
Can you think of another surname that is just as popular?
