Alternates: Round 3 // Challenge 4

Nov 05, 2009 21:14

Did you create a few icons for the challenge and then choose the best one to submit? Did you make icons from the caps though you did not participate in the last challenge?

If so, this is where you can post those "rejected" icons (along with your submitted entry) and make them sharable to others.

round 3, alternates, round 3.04:alternates, round 3.04

You do such wonderful work I don't know how I can even be in the same contest with you!

Beautiful b&w with great lighting on both.

I don't have H1N1 yet and am hoping to avoid it but can't get a shot for a while. I like the style of the 3rd icon too but made the choice to go for the more daring one to see what happened. My decision this time is not to go for the safe choice so that makes the decision much easier.

Thanks, I am thinking I should have entered that one instead.

I think the Cam one is better ^__^ It's true that the smokey texture kind of dulls him out a bit, but I like the crop, and that sense of focus and importance conveyed in that icon.

I think the colouring in your Daniel icon is really nice, but the crop isn't as good. Daniel gets overwhelmed by tree. That was a really hard cap to work with, in terms of cropping. I tried and failed on that one >.

Thank you! :) That's good to hear because I'd been wondering if the colour worked or not.

Wow, I love love the colouring all of these.

I loved the icon you submitted. That yellow really brought out a kind of "memory"/"old world feel", as well as complementing the amount of green in the cap nicely. The crop was really inspired too. A wonderfully balanced icon, even with such a centred subject.

But wow I love these alternates too. The first two daniel icons are so wonderfully coloured. I think I like the first crop a little more... it just seems more balanced (even though Daniel is a little smaller ^__^). And the third one again has great colours and a great crop! But man that last one steals my heart with it's cool blueness. It seems so cold and measured (like Teal'c can be, ha! =P ). I like the blending work on the background too. It creates a nice "fading to memory" feel. =)

Just one lonely icon this time. I was getting over h1n1 so I'll blame it on that ;)

I loved this icon! Great b&w work. And a wonderful crop. I love the use of negative space up the top. It looks really natural.
