Five ways Daniel improves Atlantis1. He translates the section of the database that they've been putting off for months as "relating to non-vital systems". Admittedly, knowing the guidelines of the day-care center doesn't help them much, but finding out about the sauna is pretty sweet

Oh, these are wonderful. I love that you go beyond his translating abilities into his diplomatic and negotiating and people skills. I love that you added Daniel/Elizabeth and I love what he whispered to her, that's so lovely ... and the last line was a gut-punch.
I'm so glad you wrote and I hope you write more!
And the only Daniel-Elizabeth icon I have is blonde!Weir. Hope you forgive. :-)

1) He knows Vala likes small shiny things, things that fit in a fist or a pocket or in his pocket--and he's not going to ask how it happens he's always pulling stuff out of there. But when he catches her trying to hot wire a jumper, he's too shocked to do more than stare at her as she starts an explanation about borrowing, and being one big sort of family, and how...well, she starts complaining about her boots. He just shakes his head, grabs her by the belt, drags her away before anyone else can catch her. And he can't find the heart to do more than frown because he's got to admit she has a point about now nice it'd be if SG-1 had transport that fit through a Stargate. He's not saying anything, either, after he hears one of the jumpers now seems to fly faster
