Five things that Jack wants to be when he grows up.

A fireman. Well, he gets to put out fires all the time. Just not with a hose or chemicals. And he doesn't like wearing the helmet these days. But, check.

A policeman. Check. Policing the fricking galaxy. Uncovering nastiness and taking out the bad guys (righteous shootings).

A doctor. No check. He knows CPR and first aid. He can do what he has to. Maybe he's saved a life or two along the way. Hell, half a check.

A pilot. YES, majorly HUGE check! Alien spaceships, no less! Not the same visceral thrill as swooping through the skies in a jet fighter, with the wind screaming all around you, but a quieter awe at the scope of the blackness of space.

Husband and father. He can check both of those off. Cross them off, with indelible ink. But call it "family man" instead and he's still in the game. His team, his kids, his family.

Now ask him what he wants to be when he enters his second childhood. Which Daniel thinks is approaching rapidly, and Teal'c probably thinks is already here. Carter knows better than to express an opinion. Smart woman.
