Mod Recruitment
It's been almost three years since the founders of sg1_five_things handed the community over to a new group of mods. Today I'm sorry to announce that one of that second generation of mods, lilyleia78, is stepping down from full participation here. Happily for us, she'll be sticking around in an advisory role, but we're going to feel her loss. Thus, we're looking to recruit another mod or two to help fill her shoes.
Borrowing from our previous calls for mods:
We're hereby soliciting for one or more volunteers to take on co-mod duties in the community. We've previously divided the work between three people with great success, but we're considering expanding to four.
The work amounts to an hour or two every couple of weeks putting prompt sets together and posting them, and then a few minutes to a half-hour here and there posting updates and announcements, memorying entries, and answering questions, plus any time spent feedbacking. The more mods, of course, the better in terms of time commitment per person.
It's great if the mods are writers who also enjoy responding to the prompts, but writing is by no means a requirement. The only real requirement is a willingness to respect the wide variety of pairings and types of fic that the membership enjoy; we have genfolk and hetfolk and slashfolk and every gradation and combination. Anybody who can post to their own LJ is more than qualified to run the comm, and everything is easily learnable. Organizational skills are useful, and it helps if you find it soothing to make hyperlinked lists. :-) We'd provide all the template documents and a full step-by-step description of how we've been doing things up 'til now.
