Five things Jack will never admit to Daniel.
Note: This prompt's included in a themed 'pairings' round, but it's perfectly OK to write a gen response, or interpret the prompt from the perspective of another pairing -- whatever you can think up. :-)

Why do they have to be so tragic?
You know, all I wanted for them all these years is happiness, but that's just not the way they work.
All of these are excellent, you have an excellent grasp of how it must look inside Jack's head, and yes, yes, yes to the third one: you captured the one thing that explains why Jack was able to push that button. Poor Jack.

ps. meaning if he read this say as something jack wrote, or perhaps heard it as something jack said?

2. Although he didn't know the details, he kinda knew that eating Kynthia's cake would get him laid.
3. If the choice was between excruciating pain for a relatively short time and chronic pain for the rest of his life... well, let's just say Ba'al may have done him a favor. Provided he lives to a ripe old age. And has someone he wants to be bendy for.
4. Exactly how broken he was when Daniel ascended.
5. That he will never allow himself to be that broken again. Not even by Daniel.

I can so, so believe #1 and #2. And #3 -- what a fascinating thought, that the sarcophagus healed a lot of his old injuries and actually relieved him of chronic pain he'd been feeling before (and big grin for the 'bendy'). #4 yes, and #5 ... wo.
Thank you so much for doing this list!

I've thought about #3 a lot. When he's flat on his back in that cell he rolls up to his feet without any hesitation so his back and knees must have been healed.
