Five times Keller got angrybluflamingoApril 21 2011, 19:04:11 UTC
1. The first three times someone asked for "the real doctor, not - are you an intern?" Actually, the fourth time as well, because that person didn't believe her when she assured him she was a real doctor. The fifth time, she did her best to laugh it off - what else was she going to do - and by the eleventh time, it was a running joke with the staff. At least until she moved to a new hospital, and had to start all over again.
2. When she finally got up the courage to ask Mark, the guy she flirted with at the coffee shop by the hospital, out for dinner, and he said, "Sorry, I don't date smart girls. We can have sex though, if you like." Later on, she wished she'd said, "Sorry, I don't sleep with stupid men." At the time she blushed bright red and said, "No, never mind," embarrassed and angry and hurt.
3. When Carson over-rode her medical decision in a command team meeting. Because she was right, and she was in charge, and he'd said, she'd asked if he wanted to take over as CMO when they found him and he'd said no, what right did he have to not just question but over-ride her? And it didn't help that Woolsey went along with him, said, "Dr Beckett does know this galaxy," like she didn't, like she hadn't spent years in it as well, bled and suffered and grieved in and for it only to be under-mined by someone who should have been her friend.
4. Three hours after that, when Carson said, "I'm sorry, love, I was doing what I thought was best," like that would make up for such gross professional disrespect. And then patted her hand, like she was a child.
5. The seventh time Rodney forgot about plans they'd made - not because the city was at risk or anything, just forgot because he was caught up in work, or hanging out with John. The first six times, she'd sort of laughed about it, oh, geniuses, what can you do? The eighth, ninth and tenth times, she was hurt, but too tired to really get angry.

I sense a pattern to these responses...Keller getting treated as a child without competence or knowledge of her own skills. It's enough to leave anyone furious. Especially with Carson.

The eleventh time, she ended it.
