O'Neill really did like Jonas. To the point that he was considering keeping him on SG1 even after Daniel Jackson was returned to them. Teal'c does not wonder about how that would have played out if Jonas did not make the decision to go back to Langara. Teal'c is wise enough to be wary of the “what-might-have-beens”.

Samantha Carter is the strongest of them all. Jack and Daniel would only really go on after losing a team member in case the others were there to support them. Teal'c suspects that the same is true in his case, although he will fight as long as he is needed. He is convinced that Samantha Carter's will to live would keep the spark in her eyes no matter how scarred her heart becomes
