Five things Cam wants to do after he retiresbluflamingoJanuary 8 2010, 18:31:42 UTC
1. Move back to the country somewhere. Somewhere with fields and small towns and people who he’ll know and who’ll know him. Because in Colorado Springs he has maybe half a dozen people he considers to be his friends, not one of whom is going to stick around there forever, and he does not want to die alone because no-one even noticed he wasn’t around
( ... )
1. write a novel. possibly a story about bomber pilots during world war 2.
2. travel. sure he's been stationed in a lot of places, but never got around to go looking at anything.
3. read. mitchell was never a big reader, but there are several books that he's heard of, but never had time for, that sound interesting. first on the list; the james bond novels by ian fleming.
4. get a dog. after retirement, he'll have time to take care of a pet. he's thinking a golden retriever or maybe a husky.
5. look up old some air force buddies. have a few beers, tell stories & wonder where all the time went.
::nods at #1:: Plus, I can see Mitchell "translating" some of the missions he's been on into stories set in WWII full of action, adventuring, and brave men running solo up a hill to take out a machine-gun nest single-handedly. :D
1) Take a road trip across the country. He feels like he’s seen enough of other planets, he’d like to take time to see more of his own.
2) Spend more time with John Sheppard. NOT saving the world/galaxy/universe. NOT getting captured/beaten/shot at. Maybe not even leaving the apartment.
3) Work on some totally frivolous project with Sam. Like designing and building a hot rod for illicit drag races. Yea, that would totally rock.
4) Visit the families of everyone who’s died under his command. This isn’t likely to be a very pleasant task, but he doesn’t want them to think their loved ones are forgotten.
5) Who’s he kidding? He’ll probably hate retirement. Twenty bucks says he'll be haunting the SGC within six months.

I love number 3. I'd like to see the results of that.
