1. An old set of dental picks. Daniel didn't blame the team; they had no way of knowing that they were a valuable archaeological tool - or that they belonged to his parents

#1. is a huge *ouch*: to have kept them through foster homes, moves through different colleges, a year on Abydos and all the rest of it... I can see not blaming anyone but that has to hurt, so much. ;_;

#2. Maybe this is just me... but IMO relatives who gave me stationary sets for gifts were only marginally better than those who gave me handkerchieves with my initials on them... I just want to *smack* Nick all over again.

#5. LOL Too. Damn. Cute. (Jack probably kept them, instead.)

2 - I wouldn't personally want a stationary set, but I see it as Nick trying to say he wants to stay in touch, stay in Daniel's life.

5 - I'm sure one day that Daniel will find them in Jack's nightstand!

Lovely list! #1 is particularly heartbreaking (more so than #4 to me, perhaps because the jar of sand is more easily replaced).

I agree 1 is the worst. Even with Abydos gone, there's probably other reminders of the planet and her people that the team would have known about and kept. Thanks!
